Carus Recovery Welcomes Rise in Number of People Seeking Substance Abuse Treatment

Carus Recovery, a drug rehabilitation center in Los Angeles, has seen an increase in the number of people seeking out treatment for substance abuse. This reflects a greater trend of more people getting help for their addictions.

A recent study by the California Health Care Foundation found that eight percent of Californians technically met the proper criteria to be considered suffering from a substance use disorder. Of those people, only 10 percent of them went to receive treatment. That may sound like a small number, but it’s actually thousands of people.

Carus Recovery's drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs help people with complex addiction problems. The study showed that alcohol abuse was more common than illicit drug abuse, with twice as many Californians qualifying for the criteria of having a dependence.

“We’re glad to see more people than ever seeking out treatment. That number is never high enough, but we’re inspired by those who would take that difficult first step. At Carus Recovery, we designed our recovery center for comfort, focus and discovery. That permeates everything we do: from the staff we hire to the community we build, to the way we keep in touch with our clients once they’ve left our facility. It’s gratifying to see people start their recovery journey, and then make peace with their past so they can step into the future,” according to a spokesperson for Carus Recovery.

Carus Recovery offers detox and residential treatment at their facility.
